The people who lived in my house before me left their 2 dogs and a cat behind. I’ve rehomed the dogs, but I can’t find anyone to take the cat. He’s great as far as cats go, but we have dogs and a rabbit, neither of whom like him, and the SPCA want me to pay them to take him in. We can’t afford to keep animals we don’t want/need, let alone pay to get rid of him. I put posters up in Petsmart but nobody wants him.
I have placed an ad on Craiglist. The SPCA is the only shelter here, and I refuse to pay to neuter somebody else’s cat, especially when they will charge the new owner too. I can’t find anyone who wants him for free, let alone someone who’ll pay to take him.
Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned his extra toes in the advert!

This morning, I lay in bed hung over from too much wine last nite and my phone rings at 6 am. Its the grocery store owner telling me my choco lab is running around town. I just picked her up from the dog pound 4 days ago, after she ran off while I was feeding her. So this morning, I went and picked him up in the truck and he was covered in dirt from digging under our new $3K dollar chain link fence…..and to think I thought he would jump over the top so they put in a 5 ft fence vs a 4 ft fence. Heck no! He has learned to dig. Do you have any ideas how to keep this dog from digging under the fence. The neigbors do not like him because he is always running to the farm next door and getting in with their dogs and it turns into a big fiasco My railroading boyfriend wants me to put metal rail under the fence so he cannot dig thru it. Do you think that would work or do you have any ideas?
I have a he dog and a she dog. The dog I am talking about is a he dog. Sorry for the confusion.

My house is surrounded by a chain link fence. I have several kids in the neighborhood who tease my dogs and stick their fingers in the fence. If my dogs bite them, am I responsible?
Thank you for all of your advice. I have heard, however, that if you post a “Beware of Dog” sign, that you are admitting you have a vicious dog , which mine are not, but other people don’t know that. Does anyone know about that?
